Specialists in rat removal and eradication

Peak Forest Pest Control’s services cover rat removal in Buxton, the High Peak and all surrounding areas.

The main rat species in Britain is the brown rat. It is a large rat usually about 23cm in length not including the tail. Brown rats are extremely common and the saying “you’re never far from a rat” is unfortunately true.

Rats breed rapidly so consequently a female rat may produce up to around 90 offspring each year.

The problems rats cause

Gnawing rats can cause serious problems, not only can they seriously damage property, but rats can also gnaw through electric cables and cause fires.

Rats have also been known to gnaw through pipes and cause floods. Many diseases can be contracted by encountering rat soiled items.

How we treat rats

Peak Forest Pest Control use a combination of rat traps and rat poison if necessary, depending on our initial investigation. We also prevent against re-infestation by carrying out essential proofing work to your property where required.

A full survey and risk assessment will be essential before any works are carried out to determine the best approach of control.

Our company is registered with the BPCA (British Pest Control Association) under our umbrella company, Direct Group. Our staff are all RSPH (Royal Society for Public Health), and the Property Care Association trained to the highest standards in our industry.
